Kosheen a star of Wianki in Krakow!
Added: Tuesday, 11 May 2010

The British band Kosheen will be the star of this year’s Wianki in Krakow. The trio consisting of: Sian Evans (vocal), Markee Substance and Darren Decoder will perform on stage in the meander of the Vistula near Wawel on 26 June.

Is a British band, established at the end of the 90s. Their music grows out of rock, trip-hop, jazz, drum n 'bass and folk music. The trio consists of Sian Evans (vocal), Markee Substance i Darren Decoder.

Their debut album Resist won huge critical acclaim and the singles from it immediately hit the top of the charts around the world. The delightful track Hide U, composed by Kosheen, reached number 6 in the UK and has won numerous awards (‘Best Remix’ at the Muzik Dance Awards and Record of The Year at the Dancestar USA Awards in Miami), while Catch hit number 15 and Hungry reached number 13.

Resist went on to reach number 8 in the UK and made it to top 30 in Australia, The Netherlands, Belgium and Greece. It sold half a million copies worldwide.

On the tour promoting their debut album (now Platinum–selling), they gave an impressive number of 141 shows in 33 countries to an audience of almost a million people. Remixes of their hits can still be heard in clubs around the world.

Their second album, Kokopelli, was released in August 2003, and it’s first single, All in My Head, possessed dance floors around the world.

Kosheen is still performing , and is not afraid to visit any country. They were the first foreign band to give a concert in Serbia after the end of the Balkan conflict, and performed for an audience of 20,000 people in the summer of 2001.

Their energetic concerts raise fans in Europe, Australia, South Africa, Asia and the Middle East to dance.
Their third album, Damage, released in 2007, is an evidence that Kosheen is constantly developing.
They stick with dynamic electronic music, but enrich their compositions with various effects, an extra doze of aggression, or even pieces of classical music, which makes their style very characteristic. They successfully escape from being labeled, balancing on the border between pop and alternative music.
In 2008, Kosheen performed at Glastonbury Festival.

We would like to remind that before Kosheen appears on the stage of Wianki, Biff, PIN, Maciej Maleńczuk with the band Psychodancing and the Latvian group BrainStorm will perform.
