Wianki and KFO Ranked Highly by Internet Users

 According to the results of research entitled “Turystyka w Krakowie” [Tourism in Kraków] carried out by the association Forum dla Polski [Forum for Poland], Wianki is the third most attractive urban event in Kraków, whereas Krakow Festival Office is the best institution connected with tourism. Events organised by KFO within the project “Sześć Zmysłów” [Six Senses] came next after Wianki in the ranking.
Although the research was initially addressed only to the tourist industry, the surveys were eventually completed by over 2 thousand of Kraków’s inhabitants. In their opinion, the biggest advantages of the city include: the proximity of Wieliczka and Oświęcim (Auschwitz); the availability of inexpensive flights; easy access to the airport from the city centre and the high quality of the city’s websites. The following aspects were awarded lowest grades: the city’s cleanliness; the fact that responsibility for Kraków’s promotion is shared by various entities, and that Kraków lacks the concept to create a city brand; the lack of a congress centre, sports hall and concert hall were also listed.
These were the lowest positions in the ranking of urban events: the action called “Rodzinny Kraków” [Kraków for the family] and famous historical performances (the anniversary celebration of the Victory of Vienna). The institutions of Kraków connected with tourism that were ranked the lowest included: Biuro ds. Euro 2012 [Office for Euro 2012], Biuro Marketingu Turystycznego [Office for Marketing in Tourism] and Krakowska Izba Turystyki [Kraków Chamber of Tourism].
Forum dla Polski has been operating for three years now and its intention is to monitor the city’s authorities. It has been running a project called “Rowerem po Krakowie” [Around Kraków by Bike] and many others.
