Vavamuffin

The band was created in 2003 in Warsaw and is associated with Karrot Kommando studio. It was Karrot Komand that released the band’s debut LP Vabang! in April 2005. Vavamuffin is active playing gigs both at home and abroad (among others at the Croatian Seasplash Festival). In the summer of 2005, Vavamuffin took part in the Sopot TOPtrendy Festival. In July 2006, the band performed at the Przystanek Woodstock Festival in Kostrzyn nad Odrą. On October 20 of the same year, Dubang! the band’s second record with remixes of the tunes from Vabang! was released, while the concert on October 23, 2007 at the Palladium Club was a premiere of the third album (the second studio-recorded one) – Inadibus. On April 4, 2008, at Warsaw’s Stodoła, Vavamuffin played a concert commemorating the fifth anniversary of the band’s existence. It was on the same occasion that the Radio Vavamuffin single was released.

In the readers’ poll of Free Colours, a dedicated reggae music magazine, the band took first place in the Polish Band or Performer of the Year 2005 category and was positioned third in the Biggest Polish Music Hope category. The debut record Vabang! took the award as The Best Polish Record and The Best Polish Debut Record and four tunes from it (Bless, Jah jest prezydentem, Sekta, Chwilunia) found their way to the first seven in The Best Polish Song category (positions 2, 3, 4, and 6 respectively). The video clip for Bless was ranked 2nd among The Best Video Clips.
