The Poise Rite – a band formed in Rzeszów whose music is described as a medley of guitar rock and indie-pop. It is one of the few Polish bands to have performed at the cult Glastonbury festival (2007) and the only one that regularly features in British music press.
The band was founded in 1997 in Rzeszów. Their music contains influences of the best quitar bands, such as Placebo and Interpol. In 2004 they played their first concerts in London. They received very favourable opinions from English critics that helped them become known on the European music scene. The band’s songs were also included on some important British compilations, such as “UV Magazine”, next to the songs by Clearlake, Tokyo Dragons and the New York Dolls.
In 2007, after years of gaining experience and searching for their own original sound, The Poised Rite released their first album “Passagalia” (EMI) and started a promotional concert tour. They performed at the most renowned Polish festivals, such as Heineken Open’er Festiwal (2007) and MFT Malta in Poznań (2007). They also gained recognition within musical circles for their performance during last year’s Off Festival in Mysłowice. At present the band are working on their new album whose release is announced for September. The album is promoted by the single "Głową do góry” which can already be heard on the radio.
