Cancellation of the Wianki 2010 event

From the analysis conducted by services responsible for maintaining the Vistula embankments and the Vistula (Regional Board of Water Management in Krakow, Board of Municipal and Transport Infrastructure in Krakow), services responsible for safety (Department of Safety and Crisis Management, Representative of safety matters of mass events, Volunteer Water Rescue Service), as well as contractors responsible for the realisation of stage technique, it results that setting up a stage construction on the territory of the Poleski Embankment and allowing the organisation of a mass event on the territory of Czerwieński Embankment is impossible and is a direct threat to the safety of the embankments and participants of the event. Based on this analysis, a decision has been made of necessary changes in the programme of this year’s Wianki.

Kosheen a star of Wianki in Krakow!

The British band Kosheen will be the star of this year’s Wianki in Krakow. The trio consisting of: Sian Evans (vocal), Markee Substance and Darren Decoder will perform on stage in the meander of the Vistula near Wawel on 26 June.
We would like to remind that before Kosheen appears on the stage of Wianki, Biff, PIN, Maciej Maleńczuk with the band Psychodancing and the Latvian group BrainStorm will perform.

Biff, PIN, Maciej Maleńczuk with the band Psychodancing and the Latvian band BrainStorm shall perform on 26 June on the stage in the bend of the Vistula river during the Krakow Wianki. The star of the evening will be announced in four days – 10 May!

Wianki and KFO Ranked Highly by Internet Users

According to the results of research entitled “Turystyka w Krakowie” [Tourism in Kraków] carried out by the association Forum dla Polski [Forum for Poland], Wianki is the third most attractive urban event in Kraków, whereas Krakow Festival Office is the best institution connected with tourism. Events organised by KFO within the project “Sześć Zmysłów” [Six Senses] came next after Wianki in the ranking.
